ominous shroud descends
as snow and dust embrace
the wind howls, making the trees naked,
bare branches clawing at the air,
the world undone.
barren fields lie cold
their secrets buried deep, untold
untimely winter’s chill consumes my lips.
relics in meadow lie white and stark
untamed in passion’s breath
framed in a frozen embrace
as a haunting whisper drifts through the trees.
cloaked in snowflakes
a desperate plea awaits spring’s grace.
